What inspired you to launch your own website?
Having a daughter in the family inspired me. Hair bows and other hair products do not easily stay in a babies hair and so I created a hair accessory that would.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
In 2007 we launched Ringlitz and it is the first web site I have created.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
While sitting at the kitchen table making ringlitz my husband and I thought of the name. I held up a headband and ask him to name as many synonyms as he could think of to describe a headband. He first said round and then ring. I added a big sequin flower to the band and said, "Now what do you think with this glitz on it?" His response was "it's a Ringlitz" and so it was.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Sequin flowers, butterflies, dragonflies, characters, bumble bees, and several other choices the typical headband doesn't offer.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My goal is to offer a quality product the world recognizes by its name! Eventually I hope to sell the name brand and new product design at Macy's
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Very uneven! There isin't any balance concerning time and money at this point. Ringlitz is a new web business and with this being said, "I spend hours of my time creating it, with hopes of sales hitting the roof!"
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
At this point, I'm happy with the new site being installed the week of October 22,2007, and wouldn't change a thing with it's appearance.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, "a girls got to do what a girls got to do," with a husband, two children, and a kitchen table; who could go wrong.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Presently- None.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Finding a web designer who understood what I was looking for in a site and top ranking in web search engines.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I sold Ringlitz at Art and Craft fairs through-out Texas for three years before opening a business online. Selling at a crafts fair was instant success and hundreds of Ringlitz were sold. I learned quickly my expectations of becoming an "instant millionaire" were bogus and realized hard work and dedication were more realistic for a web business.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gain in traffic, income or popularity?
Ringlitz.com was purchased in April of 2007. The site has been online for six months. I don't like to think negative, this site is a business that I have invested hours of my time into, and I truly believe in it. I will stay committed and continue to dedicate myself to understanding how the internet works so that I can learn how to perfect Ringlitz.
What is your favorite RInglitz?
I have lots of favorites but if I had to pick one I'd choose a butterfly. Customers can choose from several butterflies in a variety of colors, as well as, are monarch butterfly. These Ringlitz are precious on newborn, baby girls, and toddlers. A Ringlitz with a butterfly is the perfect baby shower gift and it's sure to get lots of "oohs" and "awes" from the guest attending.
