Online shopping for unique and unusual items from Bernard Gifts. Beautiful items for wedding, birthday, anniversary, home and garden. Very beautiful items to decorate your home or to give for any gift giving occasion.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I was inspired to launch a website because I had my own business and now that I do not have it anymore I decided to do it on the web. I got in touch with some very nice people who was able to work with me in selling their products. I try and sell as reasonable as I can because I am not in it to make a lot of money, but I just want to make people happy, because everyone is looking for a bargain today.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched my first site about two years ago but it did not work out too good. It was a free site and it had a lot of problems.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I just gave it the name I had for my business.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Because I do not have any over head expense. That is why my items are probably more reasonable than other sites.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To keep if for as long as I can.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It is very hard to make any money on the web because I am doing everything by myself.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would be able to do much more advertising, maybe open a store on ebay, amazon, in order to get more exposure.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Oh yes.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
I have no cost because I am using a free service.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Trying to get exposure so that people can visit my site.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I use many free directories.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is different because I do not have the money to spend in getting exposure.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Oh. I will keep it as long as I get this free hosting that I am getting.
