Hot Pink Angels Interview

By Interviewer at 06/23/08 14:22

Name of your website?

Hot Pink Angels

Your name?

Jennifer Harrison

Your Location (city, etc)

York

Please give us a short summary of your website?

It is a girly website offering all sorts of girly gifts like jewellery, candles and toiletries. Also, as the name suggests, we offer a great range of angel gifts!

What inspired you to launch your own website?

First I had the retail shop, the website seemed like a natural progression from there.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is the first site I've launched! It first went live in May 2007.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name Hot Pink Angels came about because a large part of what we sell is angel themed.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

It offers a great range of angel gifts that are quite unusual. It also offers some products that are unique to Hot Pink Angels, such as our angel t-shirts and Hot Pink Angel toiletries.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To have a great website that is popular & that offers an expanded range of products.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Having your own business is very hard work! Hopefully success will come as a result of that.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I think adding a blog would be a nice touch, where customers could also add comments to make it more interactive.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes! I am a hard worker!!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

I think when you first start-up you are unaware of all the costs you have to allow for, like marketing costs.

What has been your biggest challenge?

The research & planning of the website.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Probably leaflets handed out in our retail store.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I didn't realise how much work was involved in marketing the website.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Just over a year, & I hope to keep it for many more years.

What is your website address?

Hot Pink Angels
