When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched my website in September 2007. It is Jewelry.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Well my name is Lori and my middle name is Ann, my x husband thought of the car Delorian, (not sure how it is spelled) he thought it would be good for advertising my web site. So he created De`Lorianne Designs.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
All are one of a kind, I never make the same thing twice.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To keep it for income, and to make a good living doing something I am passionate about.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I have a lot invested, and I hope it will balance out soon for my success.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I am really not sure at this time how I would do that?
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I would hope so? I have a lot of reserve, and I am constantly making new pieces of jewelry.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Not having sells the first couple of months, and trying to find cheep ways to get listed in the search engines. Doing the website by myself, that has been a real challenge, I did not plan on that, my designer (my son) backed out at the last minute. So making the jewelry and the web design myself has slowed me down a little.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The website design.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Email campaign, and search engines.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I wish I did not have to.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
A couple of months now. I plan to keep it up as long as I can.
What kind of quality is your jewelry?
I use the most unique and hard to find semi precious gems, I spend a lot of hours on the internet looking for the best beads and gems I can find.
