When did you start your website and why?
Two months ago, I practice a lot of MTB and wanted to stay fit through the use of natural products, so I joined Herbalife as an independent distributor.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
It is a simple but efficient solution with a shopping cart, where I can show some of the products that I sell.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
I am an Internet Consultant, and each site offers different challenges. The content is always difficult, I like simple text as is it what I recommend to my clients, simple graphics so the site can be better optimized.
What has been the easist part of operating your website?
I know what has to be done in order to optimized the site, but is is always time consuming. Herbalife is not my core business, but in general terms due to my line of work I know what has to be done.
What was your biggest mistake?
Difficult to tell right now.
Who maintains your website and why?
I do maintain my site.
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
I just sold 140 usd in product a couple of days ago, and with just a couple of months running, people are starting to find my site.
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
E commerce without a doubt is growing at a very fast pace, according to all the numbers that I often receive. All industries where apply are trying to cope with this model, as it is cheaper on one side and on the other represents an important percentage of total sales (department stores for example). The future of Internet?...it will grow, right now is the future. Is the advertising method with the largest growth of all, especially in Pay Per Click.
What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
I am a certifed consultant from the Search Engine Academy, a page without proper optimization simply is not fulfilling its purpose.
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
Search Engines are here to help, it is the #1 method to carry a search. It is just a matter of understanding them and adapting to their unique requirements. For example Google gives a lot of importance to incoming links white it is said that keywords meta tags are not necessary.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
SEO and PPC.
What method has been least successful for promoting your website?
Printing adds, which by the way, altough it will always be important it is the advertising method wich is loosing more ground to the internet.
What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?
A process of education to the general public as what a site must do and why. Reasons of the importance of Search Engine Marketing, and Search Engine Optimization. Availabilty to the general public is issues such as education.
