The Cooking Kitchen - Small appliances for the kitchen and home.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I'm a disabled person with MS. This is something to keep me busy and unable me to be worthwhile.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is my first website. I really enjoy working with it. I love when someone has a question that I can help them find the answers to.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
That took almost two weeks. I had to play around with words until this one came up available. Only sorry that when I was looking for a name, I didn't put the 'and home' into the name.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
I try to put the lowest price I can get away with without going broke myself. It's amazing how prices can range. I do not have a high mark up and I have a lot of items that have free shipping, so the price you see is the price you pay (except in NY, I must charge tax).
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I really don't have an eventual goal. I enjoy doing something useful and this filled the need.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. I love being able to get the products out to my customers within a day. Delivery is usually 3 to 5 days.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Getting onto the Releveance Search Engins. It is so exciting seeing the store on the list.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Right now the only place I've used promoting The Cooking Kitchen has been with Yahoo Ads. This is starting to run into more than I was expcting it to cost, so I really need to get onto the relevace listings.
